Adopt-a-crag went well, REI appreciated our help with the project. All told, there were probably 20+ people helping out (mostly non-AOCers). The project was to create a new climber's trail up to the main walls on the side of the hill. Amber and I got put on plant detail, relocating some plants to designate the trail and block off areas people might wander away from the trail. We dealt with various forms of cholla (christmas cholla area nasty! don't get a barb stuck in your finger, trust me), some nicer/greener plants, and even a saguro (or however you spell it). We worked for about 3 hours, then REI provided free pizza, soda, a spiffy t-shirt and bag with water bottles/stickers/15% discount, and then raffled off 2 climbing harnesses, some jugs of chalk, some map CD-roms, and a ton of nalgene bottles & flasks. Our efforts were well rewarded With some remaining energy, we bouldered around for another hour or so.
