I've noticed that a lot of people don't have cars, but want to do stuff. I've recently signed up for Zipcar, and have loved it. They have cars (and trucks) located around campus and cost $45/year and $9/hr or $66/day for 180 miles. After that it's $.24/mi for cars and $.34/mi for trucks. Gas and insurance are FREE. It's a great program for those who occasionally need a car, like college students. Snowbowl is about 170 miles from campus. So, say 4 people take a truck to Snowbowl, it would cost around $35 each person. This is more expensive than what it would cost in gas (around $10/person), but the vehicles are new and very clean. Closer options, like day hikes, would only cost about $18/person. I've used them to travel around the valley a little for various errands, and have really liked it. If anyone is interested in this option to do things, let me know (or you can sign up yourself with a credit card.) I'm up for whatever, but need some people to split the cost. Just let me know.

Would you be available for going up to snowbowl either this weekend some time or next sunday? I've got one other person interested in going right now, so the zipcar costs would get split three ways. Let me know if you'll be available so I can head over to REI and get my board waxed.
