Salome Jug is a awesome technical canyoneer just east of roosevelt lake. It is a major drainage so the water levels can vary significantly. In addition to a harness and helmet, I highly recommend a 3mm wetsuit. You can rent a wetsuit for about $10 at any scuba shop (Ocean Planet, El Mar).

When and where to meet: Sunday, October 8th @ 8:00am from the McDonald's on Rural and Lemon. Return Sunday evening.
Cost of trip: Gas $

What to bring: Daypack, hiking boots, water, lunch, snacks, extra clothes, headlamp, climbing gear, dry bags, wetsuit, etc.
Other info: This canyon will require some scrambling, swimming, short down-climbing, and rappelling into water. The route is about 5 miles and should take 6 hours. This is a great introductory, though challenging, canyoneering trip!
