Hey all,After my lastest round of skateboarding injuries heal up, I wanted to start trying out some of the basics for Parkour. Just wondering if anyone else would want to try out this crazy sport. I have no previous experience other than just regular distance running and watching the videos online, so it'd be a perfect time to try this out at entry level... let me know if interested The running part is moreso optional... I'd probably start out just picking obstacles here and there that are near each other to practice on without the continuous running. We could build up with some short runs if there's interest (plus it'd be good exercise). I was thinking ASU campus would have plenty of soft grass to practice rolls and small obsticles for jumps and balance, so the location would be convenient. The only gear/cost is a halfway decent pair of shoes (sorry, 6" stilletos probably won't work )What is Parkour? The aim is to move as fluidly and efficently from one point to another, overcoming any obstacle in your path.
For an in-depth history (although it's not that old)... www.urbanfreeflow.com/the_core_level/pages/archives/history.htm
Or just check out these pages with lots of video, tutorials, and such... -Josh
