I'm not new to arizona, but sadly I haven't been to one az outing club meeting and it sounds fascinating.
I'm into backcountry and regular hiking, camping, mushrooming (the edible, fungi, damp-smelling kind that is), backpacking (given scrounge-able gear), etc. Never really tried outdoor rock climbing, but I'd be up for that too if there's a place for slightly paranoid novices (and cheap/free rent of gear). Born in Russia, but not one for below 70*F weather or snow, so if anyone's up for hiking, etc up north (Prescott, White Mountains, etc) once the weather warms up, I'd be glad to pitch in gas money and amazing mushroom knowledge.
