Maybe we should have bought chainmail at the Ren Fest...
TEMPE - A man was recovering Tuesday after being shot with an arrow as he was riding his bicycle this weekend.
The man, 38, was riding his bike at 10:11 p.m. Saturday eastbound in the 1000 block of West Broadway Road when he was hit with a "bolt" arrow in the forearm, police said. It was likely fired from a small crossbow, they said.
A random hit to someone by an arrow is uncommon but can be fatal, said Sgt. Dan Masters, a police spokesman.
Police said they weren't sure if the suspect or suspects were in a moving car or across the street when the shot was fired.
The victim was taken to Maricopa Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

That's why I don't ride my bike down Broadway. They're all barbarians.
I know how this thing can happen.
True story, I was in my backyard with my buddy, and we were trying to figure out how to release the safety switch on the crossbow that was loaded, when all of a suddend, "doink"! Where's the bolt?
We looked all over the alleyway and the neighbors yard, but couldn't find it. Then I worried about the bolt all day, because the it was pretty sharp, and the neighbors had some small kids. I worried to the point I told my mom, and she promptly grabed my arm and led me to the neighbor's house and knocked on the door. When the other mother answeared, mine said, "My little boy, lost something in your back yard...." , "oh you mean this??" holding up the missing bolt, like I was trying to kill her children.
I never felt so small.
plus I was 22 at the time.
Have a great day!!!
